More about the CIRCLING VULTURES: Circling Vultures is a hardware driven project fronted by Chicago natives Justin Long (Hugo Ball), and Ken Zawacki (Dar Embarks). Making no apologies and taking no prisoners, The Vultures sonic output follow within (and outside) the traditions of warehouse dance music culture and DIY punk practices. Zawacki and Long spent a predominant amount of their teenage years traversing through the hedonistic spaces of the Midwestern techno scene of the 1990’s, which was an era that saw a unification of acid house, knuckle biting electronics, and unforgiving hardcore. These experiences together with their adoration for subversive mutant music served as the base of inspiration for the establishment of the Vultures sound, which can be viewed as a brutal photograph of a world dipped in chaos that continues to optimistically grasp for air.
Secret Studio Records (Secret Studio), is a blue collar DIY label and production team based out of California's Bay Area with deep roots to Chicagoland. Six releases deep, Secret Studio has established a strong acidic catalog centered around hard-hitting jack tracks and lo-fi techno with raw aesthetics. The label features co-productions with D'Marc Cantu, D-Wynn and Jason Kendig (Honey Soundsystem), while also releasing EPs by fringe/upcoming artists Josh Elle, and Circling Vultures.
